I’ve had this website for a little over a year now, and during that time I’ve waffled back and forth on how to use it. I’ve tried using it as a journal, I’ve tried using it just to update my publications and keeping my main journal here. I’ve not been entirely satisfied with any of it, and the short version is that I’ve decided to try something different again.
Starting now, I’m going to start using this website as a ‘blog again. It’ll still contain all my bibliographic info, my bio, links, etc., but it’s also going to start having posts. That said, I’m not abandoning my LiveJournal just yet either. I don’t have a good way to cross-post from one to the other, so I’ll be doing it manually again. Every now and then a little post, something that’s just a link or a throw-away line or a picture, will show up on my LJ that doesn’t show up here, but for the most part they’ll duplicate content pretty much exactly, and you can feel free to continue following me at either place.
The reasons for this are assorted and dull, but one of the big ones is that I’m so many places now (Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, etc.) that I feel like I need to have one place to anchor all of those disparate “presences,” and I feel like this place will work better for that purpose.
