Roddy McDowall Reads the Horror Stories of H.P. Lovecraft
Roddy McDowall and H.P. Lovecraft are a match made in heaven. I’ve lamented before that McDowall never got to star as one of Lovecraft’s deranged, bookish protagonists, but now I’ve found the next best thing: Roddy McDowall Reads the Horror Stories of H.P. Lovecraft.
Unfortunately, there are only two stories (“The Outsider” and “The Hound“), but they’re enough. I first heard about this when somebody posted the cover of the record on tumblr, but I found the mp3s through this guy’s LiveJournal.

I’m definitely going to have a listen of this, I have a lot of respect for Roddy McDowell since going through ll the original Apes films. He’s also pretty good in the British 1960s horror ‘IT! The Gollum’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It!_%281966_film%29 which I stumbled across a few years ago. Thanks for the links!
IT! is maybe my favorite Roddy McDowall role. He’s pretty much the perfect person imaginable to read Lovecraft, at least for my money.
